Woolooware Road Burraneer

This coastal home in Burraneer is an extension and renovation project designed by Jamisa Design Architects. This brick home has received a remarkable transformation from the original brick facade into a designer, coastal sanctuary.

The house features breathtaking v-groove raked ceilings, blackbutt timber flooring and accents both inside and out, and a grand entertainer’s deck with built-in BBQ area. The coastal design is evident in the use of lining board, the Hamptons-style shaker kitchen and BBQ cabinetry, the exposed rafter tails, and the crisp white paint combined with natural materials such as timber and rattan. The new additions have been perfectly accessorised with beachy, oversized white basket pendant lights that hang above the kitchen island, suspended from the vaulted ceiling and natural rattan bar stools. Traditional brushed nickel cup handles pair beautifully with the shaker cabinetry in the kitchen, while in the BBQ area, long timber handles reference the blackbutt decking and accents featured in that space.

In the yard, there is a blackbutt decked outdoor shower and batten-clad carport/garage. Outside, ivory travertine paves the front porch and stairs. The front door is the Twofold Building Project’s Signature front door, which is a v-groove, linear design, and features a large, rudder-style timber door handle crafted from blackbutt to match the other timber used in this home. Aged brass house numbers, brass palm icon, and cane cray pot pendant light set the coastal tone upon entry.

Other special features include a large sliding barn door to separate the living areas from the bedrooms and wide stacking doors between the living area and the entertainer’s deck, both of which disappear into a wall cavity when opened for a fully seamless connection between the spaces. The new front deck extension is the perfect place to perch with a cold one while looking out over the Burraneer Bay vistas.
